  • Speak up at County Redistricting Meeting Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021

The Citizen's Independent Redistricting Commission will meet Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 6pm. The maps have all been submitted, and the Commission will choose three to five maps to move forward. Be heard!

The public hearing will be held in-person at the Betteravia Government Administration Building in Santa Maria (511 East Lakeside Parkway), and will be accessible via Zoom. To attend via Zoom, use this link: https://zoom.us/j/96627818457 or call in to (669) 900-6833 or (346) 248-7799, ID: 966 2781 8457.

SBCAN supports the "United Communities Map," and we urge you to speak in favor of the map at the hearing. This map will make the voices of Latinx communities stronger, uplift climate resilience issues around wildfires and debris flows, and center the needs of renters and working class communities.

SBCAN appreciates the support of county supervisors on many of the issues we have spoken up about. Nonetheless, we support having districts that are majority-minority and have been working with CAUSE to propose new district lines.

Below is more information about the "United Communities" Map and reasons for the boundary changes.
