Santa Barbara County AmeriCorps Partnership is looking forward to our MLK Service Day volunteer events. Please see below for your opportunities to get involved! 

AMERICORPS NORTH COUNTY SERVICE DAY EVENT Monday, January 15 from 10:00am (arrive 9:45am) -12:00pm With the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department 

Help spread bark chips in needed areas of Priesker Park! All participants will meet up at 9:45am at 330 Hidden Pines Way, SantaMaria. Instructions to sign for North County Event up: Click HERE (https://www.giveffect.com/campaigns/6015-americorps-north-county-service-day-event) to RSVP. You will sign a volunteer waiver at the park.

AMERICORPS SOUTH COUNTY SERVICE DAY EVENT Monday, January 15 from 8:30am-2:30pm With Habitat For Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County 

Participants will meet at 1121 Waldron Ave., Santa Barbara. Volunteers MUST WEAR CLOSED - FOOT SHOES & LONG PANTS for safety. Volunteers will be sent to change if not abiding by clothing guidelines. Volunteers must all be 16 years or older (no kids please) for liability. The day will run from 8:30am-2:30pm with a break in the middle for lunch. Orientation starts PROMPTLY at 8:30am and it is very important you are on time to hear all of the safety instructions. Volunteers are highly encouraged to bring water and wear sunscreen, and to leave valuables at home or locked in a vehicle. Habitat for Humanity does not provide lunch, volunteers are welcome to bring a lunch or go off site for a bit to eat lunch, if they wish. IN CASE OF RAIN the morning of the event, the volunteer day will be cancelled. 

Instructions to sign up as a Habitat Volunteer for the SouthCounty Event: Go to www.sbhabitat.org Click on 'Get Involved', 'Volunteer', 'Individual Opportunities' Click on 'Sign Up Online' Register as a new volunteer (**IMPORTANT: When registering as avolunteer participants MUST choose 'MLK Day of Service' as their team) Once registered volunteers can find 1/15/2018 on the calendar and register for the work shift that day
