We are sad at the passing of our friend Franca Bongi Lockard. She was a very giving person who received the "Social Justice Award" from SBCAN in 2016 and was a member of SBCAN. Here is a message from her good friend Jeni Olivera:

Many of you knew my dear friend, Franca Lockard.  She passed away, peacefully, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Marian Regional Medical Center, with her daughter Monica at her side.  We are having a Celebration of her Life, a Memorial Gathering of Friends on Monday, December 3, 2018, from 6-8 pm, at Trattoria Uliveto in Orcutt.  We would love for everyone to join us.

Franca belonged to and supported many organizations, including the Santa Maria Philharmonic, the League of Women Voters, the Democratic Club, her Special Needs “kids”, the Literacy Program at the Library, and more.  If you are a member of any of these organizations and are able to share the information of her Memorial Gathering, please forward this email to those who can share it with the members of those organizations.  Franca’s obituary should be in the newspaper on Thursday or Friday (https://santamariatimes.com/lifestyles/announcements/obituaries/franca-bongi-lockard/article_ae5504d4-b236-5623-9e1f-e1e2c189c263.html) with the same information.  Since most organizations have emails, I thought this might be the best way to reach the most people who knew her and would like to bid her CIAO BELLA.  Thank you for your assistance in this communication.
