Plot Line: Up-and-coming sports reporter (Hartnett) rescues a homeless man ("Champ", Jackson) only to discover that he is, in fact, a boxing legend believed to have passed away. What begins as an opportunity to resurrect Champ's story and escape the shadow of his father's success becomes a personal journey as the ambitious reporter reexamines his own life and his relationship with his family.

What the critics are saying: SCREENED AT THE 2007 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL: Like a good boxer, Resurrecting the Champ bobs when you expect it to weave. It has the markings of an inspiring sports drama, but it's also a journalism drama -- "Rocky meets All the President's Men", perhaps. It explores multiple relationships, examines the mindsets of several characters, and -- despite being a heartwarming tear-jerker -- doesn't resort to sucker punches to make us cry.
