County needs 5th District residents for trails committee

People who value trails and live in the 5th District are needed to serve on the County Riding and Hiking Trails Advisory Committee (CRAHTAC).

There are currently two or three vacant seats in Supervisor Lavagnino's district. Click here for a map of the 5th District.

Members of the County Riding and Hiking Trails Advisory Committee (CRAHTAC) have told us that the committee has become pretty active with trail and recreation matters and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission.

Committee members are needed who want to protect existing trails and expand the county's system, including the Santa Maria River Levee Trail, Orcutt Hills Trails, Orcutt Creek Trail and other 4th and 5th District trails, as well trails in other districts.

Committee members spend a minimum of four to five hours per month in meeting time and more if they wish to do tasks such as research, help write letters or testify. Find more information about CRAHTAC here.

If you are interested, contact Sup. Lavagnino's Chief of Staff, Cory Bantilan, at [email protected].

Or if you know someone who lives in the 5th District who might be interested, please forward this email to them.
