Kern County-based oil companies are seeking permission toTRIPLE oil production in northern Santa Barbara County
Proposals for 750+ new oil wells from AERA, ERG and PetroRock would use dirtier and riskier enhanced oil production methodsand drill through the Santa Maria Groundwater Basin, which provides water for 12 cities and over 200,000 people. These projects would also dramatically increase truck traffic, 24-hour light and noise pollution, and air pollution that can cause lung cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory hospitalizations, andpremature death.
Learn more about what's being proposed and what can be doneto protect our water, our air and our most vulnerable communities at this informative community meeting nextTuesday, Oct. 23, at the Foxen Elementary school auditorium in Sisquoc starting at 6 p.m. Please RSVP to by emailing [email protected]
Sincerely,
Jonathan Ulman, Los Padres Chapter Director
