Protect Immigrant Community Access to Healthcare
Tuesday, October 7
8:30 am
County Board of Supervisors
105 E. Anapamu St, Santa Barbara
In anticipation of Republican budget cuts and a ban on Medicaid and a ban on services to undocumented immigrants, Santa Barbara County is threatening to lay off over 100 county employees who provide vital health and social services and force undocumented immigrants to change their healthcare providers. Action on the proposed layoffs is scheduled for the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday October 7th.
Take action: Join 805 UndocuFund to rally at 8:30am on Tuesday, October 7 in front of the County Board of Supervisors Building at 105 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara. Then attend the meeting beginning at 9:00am to support those giving public comment on this action.
Email your county supervisors before Tuesday’s meeting to urge them to vote NO on layoffs and protect the health and dignity of all Santa Barbara County residents:

MESSAGE FROM INDIVISIBLE LOMPOC
YES ON 50 POP-UP SIGN WAVING BRIGADE
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16TH, 11-12 NOON
Email us at [email protected] ASAP with SIGN BRIGADE in the subject and we will connect all interested parties for our first one and set up more dates from there.
A number of you have requested yard signs - and we’ve looked high and low for a source. As the pundits always say – “yard signs don’t vote, people do!” People vote – by participating, you’ll show Lompoc that real PEOPLE are backing this proposition! If you have an hour to meet us in the streets to participate in sign waving brigades that pop-up around town at busier times of the day, please join us. Remember, we need people to step forward and participate to demonstrate to folks in our town that we are being brave, happy voters and standing together in the resistance. Come be brave with us!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18NO KINGS EVENTS |

INDIVISIBLE SANTA BARBARA
Bring Friends to No Kings 2.0 on October 18th
The date of our next big protest is rapidly approaching. We hope you are already planning to join us on October 18 for our rally and march, but do your friends know about the event? Some of them may need a personal invitation to even be aware of the rally, and others need more encouragement to get out of their comfort zones and join in. Personal invites make a huge difference. One way to encourage new folks to attend is to invite them to a sign making party a day or two before the rally. This is an excellent, low-pressure step for people who are new to active participation.
Take action: Plan to come with friends to No Kings 2.0 on October 18.
Location: Alameda Park (1400 Santa Barbara St., corner of Micheltorena and Santa Barbara)
Time: Program begins at noon, but come early (11:00-11:30) to join pre-rally activities
You can let us know you are coming by registering to attend here, which is optional but helps us estimate attendance. If you sign up you can receive pre-event communications with additional instructions and program details.

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.
The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.

Call to Action

Last year, Eastside residents approached SBCAN for help to promote Eastside businesses and resources. Residents consider Milpas Street Santa Barbara's "second State Street," but do not feel like there is enough investment in the Eastside to help boost its economy. Long-standing businesses are struggling due to various factors including lack of visitation from tourists staying on Cabrillo and from locals.
Thank you to our volunteer Abigail Lindros for helping create this petition to urge the City of Santa Barbara to help promote social and economic justice in Santa Barbara's Eastside. The Eastside is a community rich with diversity and resources and should be treated as such.
"To revitalize the Eastside, a community of Eastside residents alongside SBCAN and other organizations, propose creating a dedicated Eastside Resources/Businesses page on the official City of Santa Barbara website. This page would include hyperlinks to local business websites and contact information, enhancing visibility and accessibility for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, this page would promote Eastside resources such as libraries, community centers, and services for families to bolster community resilience and increase use of existing services.
To elevate Eastside’s online presence, we call for the hiring of City staff or the designation of funds towards a local nonprofit to manage social media accounts that uplift our Milpas restaurants to attract more visitors and invigorate our community’s economy."
Please sign this petition to urge the City of Santa Barbara to create an Eastside businesses and resources tab on the official City website and designate funds to promoting Milpas restaurants on social media.
