1. SANTA MARIA RIVER LEVEE TRAIL
The County's Mobility Manager, Mark Friedlander, will give an update on what the County of Santa Barbara is proposing for the extension of the Santa Maria River Levee Trail to Guadalupe and will answer questions. (More information below.)
2. YARDI SYSTEMS PROPOSAL FOR FORMER MACY'S STORE
Yardi Systems is negotiating a $100 million plan to move its corporate headquarters into downtown Santa Barbara's vacant Macy's building at Paseo Nuevo. The proposal relocates 600 employees from Goleta to State Street, aiming to revitalize the area by driving daily foot traffic to local businesses and restaurants. Ben Romo of Yardi Systems will present information and answer questions.

3. THE TRUTH ACT
Activist Larry Behrendt will present on the TRUTH Act (Transparent Review of Unjust Transfers and Holds Act) a California law that protects immigrant rights by requiring local authorities to provide transparency regarding any cooperation with federal immigration agencies like ICE.

The County recently released its Draft Environmental Impact Report and is taking comments on its adequacy and completeness. We will discuss the County's preferred plan and what actions to take to support the extension. Since there is strong opposition to the project, we must show the County that the community wants and needs this trail. The Draft EIR and all documents related to it may be reviewed on the County’s website at https://www.countyofsb.org/4804/Santa-Maria-Levee-Trail or at the Public Works offices at 123 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara and 620 W. Foster Rd., Santa Maria; or Santa Maria Public Library, 421 S. McClelland St., Santa Maria; or Guadalupe Branch Library, 4719 W. Main St., Guadalupe. We're raising a glass to Co-Executive Directors Jeanne Sparks and Ken Hough, who have poured their hearts into leading Santa Barbara County Action Network for 14 remarkable years. Under their guidance, SBCAN diversified its board, deepened community partnerships, and championed environmental, economic, and social justice across the county. Their legacy is woven into everything we do. While we'll miss them at the helm, the story continues! Ken joins the SBCAN Board of Directors and Jeanne steps into the SBCAN Advisory Council — so their wisdom stays close. And the future? It's bright. We're thrilled to welcome Nancy Avoce as our incoming Executive Director, effective July 1. Spotted early as a rising star by Jeanne and Ken, Nancy has spent nearly three years as Assistant Director exceeding every expectation.
