Santa Barbara Free America Walkout Tuesday, January 20 from 2PM to 5PM Superior Court Of California County Of Santa Barbara 1100 Anacapa Street, Santa Barbara   FROM WOMEN'S MARCH SANTA BARBARA:   One year into Trump’s second regime, we face an escalating fascist threat: raids on our communities, troops occupying our cities, attacks on immigrants, families torn apart, mass surveillance, and terror used to keep us silent.  It is time for our communities to escalate as well.    2025 was a year of marches that showed our collective strength. And as the threats grow, our movement must evolve and escalate. This is a protest and a promise.  In the face of fascism, we will be ungovernable. On January 20, we will gather neighbors and classmates, and turn our back and walk out on fascism. Walk out to block the normal routines of power, and make the stakes real. Bring signs, stand on the corners to voice our rage.  March to State St.  Share ideas and stories.  We each do what we can (and maybe a little more).     Walk out of whatever we would normally be doing, then join us when you can. Let's see how long we can keep our voices raised! Refuse to spend money supporting the current economy. Be aware of how we are monetized on social media, and look away. There is much we can do. Let today be the start of taking back our society, of talking to people, of sharing ideas, of moving forward. January 20 (Tuesday) 5:30 PM, SM City Council Meeting, SM City Hall, 110 E. Cook Street. After the protest we are asking City Council to step up for our neighbors and protect our Immigrants.  We plan to speak out in the open session.  Please contact us if you would like to speak.  We have farm and ICE statistics to help you frame your message.  We will conclude with a mass walkout of the meeting, so please join us to present a full force.

New Year's Revolution: Fight Facism

Join us on Saturday Jan. 24 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for our New Year's Revolution: Signs of Fascism protest.

##It’s a new year, and we aren’t backing down now! The fight for our freedom & democracy has never been more important!##

Signs for this protest will have a specific theme, and we want to be 100% focused on it. We’ll have about 35 signs made in time for the protest, but if you’d like to make your own, please adhere to the theme, sign content is listed below. Email us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

We will line up at our usual corner (North H Street & Central Ave.) but this time, we are asking everyone to spread out so that we are all about 10 feet apart. We want to be sure the signs are all readable by passing cars.

No sign? That’s ok! Dress in all black or black & white, wear a Handmaid’s robe and bonnet, or dress as RBG and stand with us in solidarity. Sign plan: black signs (use black posterboard or black foam core), with white lettering (letters can be cut from construction paper and glued on, or use paint).

Masked federal agents are terrorizing our communities. They're teargassing babies, kidnapping our neighbors, shooting clergy in the face with chemical projectiles, and killing innocent people. But right now we have an opportunity to rein in ICE at the federal level. ICE and Border Patrol are part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is currently funded only through January 30. The new funding bill that’s currently being written is our opportunity to put significant restrictions on ICE and ensure it doesn’t get a single penny more to enable its brutality.  This is a winnable fight, if we can convince Congressional Democrats to hold firm.
