SBCAN's Central Coast Green Team invites you to help with the Edible Landscaping Demonstration Garden Sunday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. The garden is located at 910 S. Oakwood Drive in Santa Maria.

Leonardo Espinoza Jr. is the garden director for the Green Team. He is leading this "fun day" at the Edible Landscaping Demonstration Garden.

    Leo says:

Join us and help make a positive impact for our community. We provide a natural learning environment about how and where our food is grown. Come out and have some fun with the Green Team then take some free starter plants, provided by Plantel Nurseries, to start your own garden at home. Bring your garden gloves and get ready to spruce up the garden. Invite your family and friends. Hope to see you there.

The proposed Final EIR for Pacific Coast Energy Company’s plan to add 96 cyclic-steaming oil wells—and as many as 48 more—to its Orcutt Hill property is to be reconsidered on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 by the Santa Barbara County Planning Commission at the Betteravia Government Center in Santa Maria. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. and this item is expected to come up sometime after 10:30 a.m. and will likely continue after their lunch break.

SBCAN urged a year ago, last month, and will continue to urge, denial of the project. All of us should oppose the project, including the scaled-back alternatives, for the following reasons:
